The first new movie production to be filmed in North Carolina in 2017 is now confirmed, as the independent drama American Animals will be shot in Charlotte and surrounding towns beginning in February!
American Horror Story breakout star Evan Peters, who also played Quicksilver in this summer’s X-Men: Apocalypse and 2014’s X-Men: Days of Future Past, was announced last month as the lead in the film.
A heist thriller from writer-director Bart Layton (The Imposter), American Animals will tell the unbelievable but mostly true story of four young men who mistook their lives for a movie and attempted one of the most audacious bank robberies in U.S. history. It promises to take the thrill of the heist genre and turn it inside out, blurring the line between truth and fiction in a wild story of money, movies, and the search for meaning.
Casting is now underway for extras through Tona B. Dahlquist, with all ages, races, and types currently needed.
